Blair in Action

Many (including here the Telegraph) will be wondering why it is that it has taken 6 years for Blair to take the House of Commons seriously and make a sensational speech.

The answer is simple. He made the speech to the Commons that he did because for the first time in 6 years the Commons mattered. And it mattered because for the first time in 6 years there was a big issue that has not been the subject of a general election.
